AFJ Conducts Central America Market Access Assessment

Ambassador Allen Johnson presented a keynote address at the WTO/IDB sponsored sub-regional conference on aid for trade and Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) measures.  The meeting focused on an AFJ-coordinated assessment of SPS and other technical barriers to agriculture and fish products, and identified steps needed to overcome the barriers.  The assessment highlighted export priorities for Central America and Panama in the United States, EU, and regional markets and drew from information generated by data analysis and interviews with government, private sector, and donor organizations.  Copies of the assessment can be found at http://www.standardsfacility.org/Central_America.htm.
