Andrée Houde was named Director of Canadian and French-Emerging Markets with Allen F. Johnson & Associates, LLC in May 2007. Drawing on nearly 20 years in the Canadian government in areas such as agriculture, international trade, finance, as well as tax and social policy issues, Ms. Houde’s broad experience and extensive international dealings provide a diverse background to advise clients on developing global business and marketing strategies, management services, government relations and market opportunities.
Prior to joining Allen F. Johnson and Associates, Ms. Houde was responsible for formulating the Canadian position on agricultural issues in the WTO Doha Round as well as bilateral and regional free trade negotiations (including with Korea, Mercosur, and Central America). This entailed working closely with several Canadian government departments and agencies, along with industry representatives to coordinate strategies for multilateral and bilateral/regional trade negotiations and negotiate with foreign governments. Ms. Houde has experience implementing trade agreements, including WTO dispute resolution, and developing international trade strategies for the Government of Canada. In addition to her experience with trade policy, she has held a number of positions in the Canadian federal government and the Canadian central bank (Bank of Canada) which entailed analyzing, conceiving and implementing financial, tax, and social policies, including reforms of tax policy and social security programs.
Ms. Houde received a Masters Degree in Economics from Laval University in Canada with a specialization in Public Economics and econometrics along with coursework in International Affairs at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs in Ottawa, Canada. Her undergraduate degree is in Economics from Laval University.
Ms. Houde, who is fluent in English, is a native French speaker from Quebec.
